Position Summary
We are expanding our engineering team with a Middle or Senior Mobile Developer specializing in Flutter to contribute to the next generation of our large-scale IoT monitoring and analytics platform. The role is full-time, on-site in Athens (Attica) or Patras (Achaia).
You will design, develop, test, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS using Flutter and Dart. The applications integrate with secure cloud APIs and IoT services, provide operational and field-work functionality, and must remain reliable under real-world mobile network conditions. You will collaborate with backend, firmware, cloud, QA, and product teams to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-quality mobile software.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Build reusable widgets, components, and application modules, and optimize responsiveness, performance, and resource usage.
- Integrate security and data-protection best practices throughout the mobile application lifecycle, including secure authentication, token handling, local storage, and transport security.
- Develop and maintain unit, widget, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Participate in debugging, profiling, performance tuning, release preparation, and deployment to Android and iOS environments.
- Collaborate closely with backend, firmware, cloud, QA, UX/UI, and data engineering teams.
- Evaluate Flutter/Dart ecosystem technologies and mobile engineering practices to continuously improve software quality, maintainability, and delivery efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in Greece and residence within commuting distance of Athens or Patras.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in software engineering using modern development workflows, source control, code review, CI/CD, and issue-tracking tools.
- Hands-on professional experience developing and delivering Flutter applications for Android and/or iOS.
Technical Skills
Mobile & Flutter Engineering
- Professional experience with Flutter and Dart.
- Strong understanding of Flutter application architecture, state management, navigation, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, and lifecycle management.
- Professional experience with mobile application security and secure coding practices.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, JSON-based services, WebSockets, and asynchronous data flows.
- Experience with local persistence and secure storage, including appropriate handling of credentials, tokens, cached data, and application state.
- Ability to integrate native Android/iOS capabilities and third-party SDKs through Flutter plugins or platform channels when required.
- Experience handling mobile connectivity constraints, timeouts, retries, intermittent networks, background execution limitations, and offline/online synchronization.
- Professional knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, access/refresh-token lifecycle management, PKCE, secure token storage, scope/claim-based authorization, and secure logout/session handling.
Backend & Cloud Integration
- Solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, WebSockets, DNS, and the network behavior relevant to mobile applications.
- Competence in TLS, certificate validation, cryptographic fundamentals, mobile platform security mechanisms, and secure coding practices.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with cloud-hosted APIs, push-notification services, telemetry services, and distributed backend systems.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining resilient mobile-to-cloud integrations, including error handling, API versioning, retries, and observability.
Testing, DevOps & Agile Practices
- Skilled in Git workflows, branching strategies, merge requests/pull requests, and code review.
- Experience with unit, widget, integration, and automated functional testing in Flutter, including mocking and test automation.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and disciplined SDLC practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Flutter applications, including automated builds, tests, signing, packaging, and release workflows for Android and iOS.
Optional (IoT / Device Integration)
- Understanding of IoT application concepts and mobile interaction with connected devices and cloud telemetry.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), QR/barcode scanning, location services, push notifications, or device provisioning is an advantage.
